2022 is bringing many exciting changes to the Inn at Little Pond Farm. Most notably, the transition of ownership from Gaye and Frank Luaces to Karen and Ben Slocum in January. The Slocums have a beautiful connection to the Inn and are looking forward to sharing this new chapter with all of you.
When Karen, an anesthesiologist from Charlotte, first stepped foot in the Inn, she knew she had found a hidden gem in the mountains of North Carolina — even though it was the first time she’d experienced it, she wanted to share it with everyone she knew. When she had a four course meal prepared by chef Michael Rafferty, she immediately called her husband Ben to gush about the Inn. Their family visited the very next weekend and the rest is history.
Ben and Karen live in Charlotte, NC with their two children, Annika and Alexander. Karen was born and raised in Charlotte before moving up and down the east coast for college, medical school, her residency and fellowship. Ben is from Vienna, VA and lived in Massachusetts, Louisiana, Kentucky, Arizona and Washington DC before moving to Charlotte with Karen in 2015. The two met on Martha’s Vineyard where Karen waitressed after college and Ben spent summers with his family. They both love meeting new people and going on new adventures — and they have a feeling The Inn at Little Pond Farm will be their best one yet
The Inn made an immediate impression on the Slocums and they knew they needed to make it a part of their lives. They are very excited for this opportunity and are committed to upholding the high standards that Gaye and Frank have set over their years of operation.
Both Ben and Karen are looking forward to all of the wonderful memories that will be created here and continuing to bring a standard excellence and tranquility to the guests of The Inn at Little Pond Farm for many years to come.
